I squint alot, but my eyesight appears to be fine. Well, what I mean is no words/objects are blurry (at all!!!) What could be the problem?

Yes, I'm making an appt. for an optometrist in a month.

What do you think, just curious.

When people are young, if they have minor vision problems, they can compensate by using their muscles to change the shape of the eye and achieve perfect vision - this happens automatically. As you age, your eyes become less flexible and at some point, your muscles can no longer compensate without squinting - and its time for glasses. That's what the doctor told me when I first had to start wearing glasses at age 27.

Try relaxing your eyes by staring at walls or soothing pictures of water, waterfalls, etc (you know the bunch). Try to forget about squinting. Sometimes it's a psycological thing that you need to rid of. Anyways, just relax and take your mind off of it. If that doesn't work, then you probably need to make an appointment with an optometrist! Good luck.

Does anyone else in your family wear glasses? Do you see well close up and far away at the same time? Read a book for 5-10 minutes then look off in the distance quickly. Experiment so when you see the eye doctor, you can answer their questions.
