1) it is still too young to be able to consistently follow a potty training schedule. Small dogs like chis and other toy breeds sometimes take up to 12 months to potty train reliably.

2) crate train. if you set up a consistent schedule for the dog, it will begin to learn where and where not to go. do NOT, however, let your chi go more than two hours between potty breaks, and don't expect it to want to go outside. often, chis are best paper trained during the winter, and kept on a schedule into the summer time with outside potty training continuing through the warmer months.

3) encourage your dog to eat at regular times. if you feed her when you are eating dinner, expect a small package about 1/2 hour later. take her outside or to her paper and watch for signs of needing to potty.

4) learn the signs of puppy potty behavior, and be on the look out at ALL TIMES. as soon as you see her sniffing the ground with her nose down low, scoop her up and take her for a potty break. do NOT discipline her past redirecting, as she is both too young and too sensitive to understand why you would be angry with her.

It will be your responsibility to be on the look out. praise her for going potty where you determine is the best spot (outside or paper). keep the guidelines clear and consistent. don't change her schedule. most of all, keep patience and know that she will get it, eventually.

good luck.

First off, give it a little more time. It may take awhile. He is very young and you have only had him a few days. Second, you should know that smaller dogs are always harder to housebreak than larger dogs. Take him outside as soon as he wakes up and immediately after he eats/drinks anything. Be consistent about this. Using puppy pads can work, although you run the risk of him always needing them thereafter. Crate training can be really effective also, as they will not go where they sleep. Generally. I have seen the oddballs that just don't care but that is rare. Definitely reward him when he does what you want and discipline him when he doesn't. Your tone of voice goes a long way with a dog. When he goes somewhere other than where you want him too, make sure to take him, and any mess he leaves behind, to the designated area. Positive reinforcement and consistency are key. He will get the hang of it, it just takes time. Here's some links that might help you. Good luck!

Since it is obvious that you do not have a clue about obedience training, your services should be for free. You cannot train even an adult dog for 8 hours a day. About the most that can be done at any one time is 10 - 20 minutes and that is with an adult dog and not a puppy. The attention span on this baby is extremely short and training session should be no more than 10 minutes and twice a day. Additionally, there isn't going to be much learned if you will only be training for 5 days. Obedience training is cumulative and is done over a much longer period of at least several weeks to several months.
What you can charge is determined by your experience, reputation, and accomplishments and in a case like this, should also include guaranteed expectations. Just working with dogs over several years, is not the experience that is necessary to be a dog trainer. There are too many people who are putting that title to their name and fleecing the public. Don't be one of them.

she is still young so crate train her . that means keep her in the kennel with papers take her out every few hours if you can and when you are at work keep her in there when you get home take her out as soon as you can. clean the cage out and reward her for going outside . do not let her run around your house keep her in a confined area to play with blanket on the floor . and when she does have and accident on the floor take her to the area right away that she did the deed in and scold her harshly then put her outside and keep her out there for a few minutes then back into her crate till she has to go again . remember to reward her as well. this might take from two up to a month

Keep Him Confined To a SMALL CRATE Remove him and take him out IMMEDIATELY to the same area each time.when he pottys , give a short praise .He can stay out of the crate for an Hr. or so then return him.Repeat as needed. A puppy of this age will hold his water from 2 to 4 hours if crated and longer with age .

this little baby is too young to start any kind of training, just take it outside as often as you can, remember, its all a matter of timing, yours, your puppy will need to go after it eats and drinks and about every hour or so until it gets a little older

crate training is your best bet. my sister and i crate trained our dogs and they can hold it all day. the human society even suggests crate training.
dogs actually like being in their crates once they get used to it because it like being in a den, so don't be afraid and think it's cruel, or that you're traumatizing the dog if it barks and whines. it'll get used to it.
