When we were dating, my husband told me that he didn't want to date me unless I was serious about considering marriage at some point.

I replied that I wouldn't consider marriage if he wasn't going to be a church-goer, even though I wasn't particularly religious at the time....either were my parents.

I was just something that I knew I would want in marriage and I didn't want to go any further in the relationship unless that would be a factor.

Now we are both religious and have a great marriage because we are both closer through that religion. Plus, the kids aren't confused about what we believe as a family. That's always handy.

Yes if someone is not religious they may have a fear of the unknown. She may want to do things in her life your religion may not agree with.

it could be, if you are looking for a serious relationship and want to spend possibly your life with them, religion may be sn important factor in your relationship, but maybe you should just talk it out with them
