So i invited a girl on a first date and i was wondering, she doesnt know this yet but i was thinking of taking her to a place about 10 mins away, and go hot air ballooning as a first date. How does that sound? too extreme for a first date ?

Not at all unless she's afraid of heights. The best first dates are the ones that have a lot of interaction that causes conversation to be never ending. Imagine what she'll have to say being up in the air like that. I think it's a good idea as long as you know a little bit about her so she doesn't end up hating the whole date.

That is kind of exteme unless you know that she likes hot air ballooning. If she doesn't, it could ruin your chance for future dates because she may either go so she doesn't hurt your feelings and be scared to death or say no and things go bad for the rest of the night. I would clear that with her first. The first date is for getting to know a person, may be hard in a hot air balloon, get what I mean :-)

Well, it depends on the girl's personality..for example, make sure she's not scared of heights! But if you're sure it sounds like something she'd be interested in, go for it!

that sounds amazing and i'm sure she'll appreciate your thoughtfulness and creativity it sounds much better than just dinner and a movie or something basic just make sure she's not afraid of heights
