If you are talking about seborrheic dermatitis on your scalp , shampoos with selenium sulfide work best (Selsun Blue, Head & Shoulders intensive treatment) Sometimes a common fungus can cause seborrhea, in this case a shampoo with Ketoconazole (such as Nizoral ) works great. If psoriasis is a contributing factor, coal tar shampoos work best (Denorex) and prescription topical ointments and gels such as Lidex (Fluocininide). See a dermatologist if your symptoms don't improve. DO NOT use these shampoos on a baby or young children without consulting a doctor first.
