I'm 23 years old and I've been talking to a guy that is 15 years older than I am. I've been through a lot of bad relationships before and this guy seems so genuine and I really like him. He has never been married and does not have any children. Do you think it could work?

Absolutely... age doesn't matter once you're a certain age.

This could absolutely work out.

As long as the two of you are headed in the same direction in life the problems should be minimal. There could be some issues if, for example, you are interested in still going out and having fun while he is more of the homebody type. I have found that women usually do well with an older mate as long as they have the same priorities in life.

If he is 38 years old and never has had a wife or children, then he must either be lieing, or something is wrong with him. But if he truly seems like a person you could see yourself spending the rest of your life with, go for it. But just a suggestion, really get to know him on a deep level just to make sure he isn't a weirdo.

If he is 38 and has never been married and has no children, THAT should speak volumes about him. You two are from nearly two different generations and the chances of a long-term relationship working out are remote. I would stick someone bonr in the same decade you were sis.

You may seem happy at first with him. But, believe me the age will find away to mess things up. You are still young. Little things like music will even become an issue in your relationship. And , then there is entertainment. Your friends and his friends won't have anything in common. I think you could be happy with him. But, when it is time to go out to be around each others friends. or, to find things to do outside the home. You are going to see it won't be quit as easy

It CAN work. It may require more attention than other relationships, but I don't see why it should, except if he is more experienced in ways of the world and both of you are highly opinionated people.

Give it time though. Don't jump straight into marriage after just a few months.

It can work but you need to have common interests and common knowledge. When there is a significant age difference, you need a clue about what was happening in history and politics during the other person's life/youth.

Books and movies, history are all good resources.

You both also need to be at the same place in your lives.

You're the best judge as to whether a permanent relationship with this gentleman would work out well. Just take your time and spend enough time to make sure. Don't jump into things, but let things develop for awhile. Good luck.

Age is nothing but a number. It should not matter that he is older then you. If anything, hopefully you have learned from your past relationships on what you want out of this relationship. I hope that it works out for you both!

Yes, your relationship could work. If this is an internet relationship make sure that everything that he is saying is true. Keep a level head and be cautious. He might be the man of your dreams. Make sure that it doesn't turn into a nightmare.
