My husband had a hip revision 1 week ago. Yesterday he felt a pop on the side of his hip but could still walk and it hurt. Physical therapy was here today and said he would know if it came out of place and did his therapy. Tonight he felt a pop in the groin with severe pain. We called the surgeon who said it may be an adhesion and to rest and call him in the morning. He tried to walk and cannot. Right now he has no pain lying down but has severe pain in groin area when moving any. There is no swelling, incision looks good, good pulse in foot. Does this sound like an adhesion?

It could be dislocated or maybe a hardware inside came loose.Sometimes after hip revision, joint gets dislocated then goes back in but the problem is it irritates the surrounding tissues and/or the hardware. Make sure he still practices his hip precautions. If he continues to not be able to walk because of pain tomorrow, he should be seen by the MD for an xray to rule out dislocation.
