i have a birthmark on my neck, and my 1 friend says it looks like a hickey. well. what exactly is a hickey. i am confused

where someone of the opposite sex, sometimes the same sex- sucks on an area of your body and causes hyperemia (where blood is sucked to the surface basically) and it causes discoloration where it commonly leaves a bruise like area.

A hickey is what happens when someone sucks at your neck until the capillaries break and little pinpricks of blood appear just under the skin. It looks like a red mark. This is a result of some serious making out. Frankly, I don't know why a guy would want to do this, or why a girl would let him, but that's another question.

a hickey is a mark that you get where a person has sucked on, usually on the neck. its red/purplish. yeah and it makes people look at you wierd for having one. people wear turtle necks to hide them from parents.

love bites....you get them from people sucking on your neck. they look cheap and tacky... Birth marks are cool though, I have one on my belly shaped like a tadpole!!! If you are really bothered they can easily be lasered off but I wouldn't worry about it. Tell you friend she obviously hasn't had a love bite if she thinks that's what they look like.
