My sister is due in 8 weeks with a little girl... they have chosen to name her Josaphine Lane (last name).... they are trying to decide if they should call her just Josie or have her name be hyphenated to Josie Lane (as her first name)... just curious which sounds best... Josie or Josie Lane? Thanks!

The full name will be Josephine Lane .... the question is should she "go by" or "be called" just "Josie" or "Josie Lane" ... sorry for being a little confusing!

I think that they should just wait and see what comes natural to them. Some names just flow out so well you can't help but add on their middle names.

Lilly Ann is one that we have. She is supposed to be just called Lilly but the Ann is always added.

I have a little girl in our school now named Josephine and she spells her name Josey and I think it is an adorable spelling - just a little different.

I also have a little boy named Carter and his last name is Lee and just on its own everyone started calling him by his full name, Carter Lee. It is cute too. :)

Congrats on your new niece! Josie Lane is very cute! SD

Do you mean Josie Lane Lane?? Josie is better than Josaphine.

Usually it's spelled Josephine.

A middle name to go after Josie would be good.......something soft like Marie, or others, but the middle name should not start with L.

If Her first name was Josie Lane and her last name was Lane, would it be Josie Lane Lane? Or do you mean Josie-Lane? Josie-Lane is cute.

Josaphine Lane is a very distiguished name on its own, but I prefer just Josie.

Good Luck to you!!
