I don't think it should because I have fairly sensitive skin and it's never irritated my skin when I've used it.

I have sensitive skin and have used witch hazel for years. It is very gentle and really good for your skin. In fact I have been asked many times what the secret is to my great skin! I think the witch hazel has a lot to do with it!

It doesnt work for everyone. I wouldnt say that my skin is sensitive- normally I can use just about any product and it works well but witch hazel irritates my skin. Do a patch test first before you put this all over your face.

No, it shouldn't hurt your skin. I have VERY sensitive skin and I use it every day. I don't know about 'closing' pores. Personally, I like Neutrogena pore refining cleanser. Witch hazel is the active ingredient in most facial toner, and is way cheaper!!

No. Witch Hazel has in it some natural numbing agents. It's good to put on before you wax yourself or when your foot is aching you can soak it in it or something. That's about it. For zits/pimples I believe there's some sort of baking soda-water thing you can make that will help dry it out and reduce the redness. Saline will help as well.

It probably will because it is generally used in conjuction with isopropyl alcohol. It'll dry out your skin, and then irritate your face. It doesn't close your pores. Once pores are stretched out, they never close. Think of them like grocery bags, they look bigger when they're full of stuff.
To clean them out, wash your face. Make a paste out of baking soda and water and scrub your face gently two or three times a week. That will exfoliate your face and keep flakes at bay. You can make a mask out of yogurt (plain sugar free) and fresh strawberries once or twice a week to help clean out your pores and moisturize your face. Papaya and pineapple will also work in place of the berries. These natural remedies will prevent dry skin, acne flare ups, and will keep from exposing your face to chemicals you can't tolerate.
I use them myself. My skin looks great.
Use a facial cleanser made for sensitive skin, and a facial lotion with sunscreen daily. Cancer is never sexy, and wrinkles at 30 are no good.
Best of luck!

It won't irritate your skin, but it also won't close your pores. There is no such thing as "closing" pores. There are products out there that will clean them, however. Witch Hazel is one of them.

Witch Hazel is an all natural astringent. It might dry your skin out and be rough on it. Try the Bert Bees astringent, they make a nice one for sensitive skin.

I have really sensitive skin as well and I used witch hazel once. I burned so bad and made my skin red and dried my skin out really bad. I wouldn't use it.
