Self-diagnosis is the worst thing a person can possibly do. Even when a doctor give you an opinion you get a second opinion.

You can't diagnose yourself with OCD simply because you are not psychiatric professional. However, let's assume you do have it and you need to know for sure and let your parents know.

You can go to the nurse/counseling/clinic in your school/university/college. There they can point you in the right direction or may have the facilities to diagnose you. Once you are diagnosed with it there should be no trouble convincing your parents.

Also, you should know that if you are determined to be diagnosed with OCD whether you have it or not you will be diagnosed with it. When speaking to a psychiatric professional be honest and balanced and truthful about your answers so that they can diagnose you properly. And if you can, always get a second opinion, specially if medication is involved.

OCD is a psychological farce. There is nothing wrong with being a little obsessive or compulsive about things. It's only human.

I used to be obsessive compulsive about a clean house and clean car... until I got married. My self-diagnosed OCD went away real quick when I married someone who isn't as uptight about cleanliness as I am.

I guess I would tell them, together, that you've been doing all this research on OCD because you believe you have it; are pretty much sure that you definitely have it, and would like very much to get professional help. Good luck. : )

GO TO THE DOCTOR ON YOUR OWN
tell him what's going and then tell him to to call your mother and father..
and let them know that you need TESTING!

you won't have any different result if they believe you or not. you'll just feel less lonely about it.
