It is suggested that you drink at least 8 8oz glasses a day.
so 64 oz at least.
The more the better, however you will need to use the toilet more.

You should divide your weight in two. That number is the amount of ounces you should drink in a day, more if you are very active. Example: 120 lb. person should drink 60 oz. of water a day.

8 - 8 oz glasses ... It sounds like a lot but 8 oz is only one cup which really is not that much. I mix a powder energy drink with 2 of my 8 glasses a day (8am & Noon) that is extreme energy and it's awesome. Since it's a powder you can mix it no matter where you are at and with any beverage that you choose and they only cost $1 per drink. I order mine from the link below

64oz. a day... but don't panic if you can't fit it all into one day: we get water from other sources as well (fruit, veggies...)
Think of watermelon, for example: when I eat it at night I end up taking about 4 trips to the rest room!

Generally they figure a gallon per day but it varies with size/metabolism/activity/temperature, etc.
