Ask him about something he might like to talk about--like music or sports or school or a recent movie, then pay attention to him when he answers; don't be thinking about what you're going to say next, and don't interrupt him. Ask him questions he will have to answer with a sentence or two, not something he can just say "yes" or "no" to. Lean in towards him a little (not a lot--you don't want to scare him!) and really listen.

Ask him something about sports like, Did you see the game last nite. Or talk about a guy movie you think they might have seen, Or ask them how they enjoyed their weekend or Christmas break make a comment on what they say try to keep the conversation going but don't push it to hard

try learning as much as you can by the posture he might give off I am the kind of guy who is very shy due to my past experiences with girls so most of the time I am respecting and keeping my distance and O.K. sign would'nt hurt either just tell its alright to say what you feel you have to see the kind of person he is then entertain what ever the subject matter is

Never ask how his day is lol and dont tlk 2 him about ur day because he will get bored...start tlkn to him about the newest video game or somethin that hes into like baseball or something like dat ...that should get his attn..
