The signs of stroke depend on where in the brain the stroke occurred. Symptoms typically include some or all of the follwing: slurred speech, facial droop on one side, numbness/ tingling in fingers, arm or one whole side, double or blurry vision, weakness on one side trouble walking, trouble getting out what you want to say, and confusion. If the symptoms completely resolve in less than 1 day, then it's called a TIA, or mini-stroke, but you should still go to the hospital, and are more likely to have a full-on stroke in the future.

1] try some Biotene toothpaste - it helps a lot [ used it during chemo - seemed to have no saliva whatsoever - just mucus - ick ]. It is in CVS in the bottom of toothpaste section. 2] be sure you are drinking about 1/2 gallon of liquid [ non caffeine, non carbonated, non alcoholic ] a day 3] take some good vitamins with minerals, every day 4] avoid 'rough' foods - chips, hard candies, anything with sharp 'edges' til mouth feels better 5] also keep a food diary - some foods can aggravate dry tongue/mouth [ spicy, acid, citrus etc. ] 6] buy gum sweetened with xylitol [ not sugar, splenda, aspartane, etc. ] also helps a bit. 7] the artificial saliva is as disgusting as it sounds - it really feels like saliva, and induces gagging 8] see a doc if no improvement after one week. If he can't help, call the dentist, too!

Look in a mirror and see if one side of your face sags when you smile. You may just have dehydration, but getting a diagnosis on the internet is not the best way to do it.
