Have there been big changes in your household lately? Dogs who are excited or nervous will do this.

first how old is he? if he's still a pup, they may be successful for a while then it's like they forgot and need to have housetraining all over again. if he's not neutered and old enough to be neutered, start there. if he's an older dog and this just started all of a sudden, then you need to take him to the vet, he might have a urinary tract infection that needs to be looked at. but without more info no one can answer this question correctly. age, breed, male, female, spayed, neutered???? a little more help here. i left my crystal ball in my other pants.

if he/she is older she may be lossing bladder control. same as with an older person and parts start to weaken. there is a pill for does to help them called Diethylstilbestrol about a dollar a pill and twice a week . My 10 year old dog was put on them a few months back and no more accidents.
I would say take her to the vet to rule out health problems if it is often or gets more often.

Sometimes I think dogs get moody. Right after I taught mine to go outside he would still pee in the house, sometimes right in front of me. I think he was mad or something cause he would especially do it if I left him home alone. Finally he quit after we got him fixed. Good luck! Just keep punishing him when he does it inside and he should get the idea.

If he is not neutered then he marking his territory. Get your dog neutered and clean well all the spots he has marked this should resolve the problem.

If they can get the scent of another dog in the house they will do that this is a possibility.
