I'm 20 years old, very active, mountain bike, work outside all day long, 5'10" and about 135 lbs with 10% body fat and even a bit of a 6 pack going on. I can grab my belly and get only about 1/2 an inch of fat but it the belly is just always sticking out. (no so much in the morning) i know that eating a ton would make it bigger but i don't. When i suck it in all day long it looks great and i'm fine with it. but i just want to relax and have a flat belly. What should i do differently? is it because i do only weight 135 lbs and the only place the food has to go is out??

the reason is because of an organ in your stomach called omentum...omentum are the fat bodies responsible for beer bellies and things like that...the thing with your stomach is it's the last thing to get (as in a six pack) and the first thing to go...what you need to do is if you want a flat stomach is just to continue working on your stomach and your six pack...work on it everyday or every other day..if you don't..you'll lose it...the omentum will eventually shrink down..but just know it will come right back the minute you slack off...so eat healthy and exercise your stomach...

Do you do any ab exercises? I would suggest incorporating a variety of ab exercises, such as standard ab crunches, cable crunches, lower crunches, machine crunches and reverse crunches. Find a few exercises you like and stick with them, but switch them up every few weeks to maintain variety in your work out. You have an ideal body fat so it shouldnt be hard tightening up your stomach with a little work!

Wow...I compete in triathlon, I have 4% bodyfat. By belly sticks out when I relax. That is how human beings are built. Don't worry so much about it. It has nothing to do w/ fat. EVERYONE has that problem.
