After the raid on the meat packing plants on December 12 of this year, AMERICANS were lined up to get the jobs that were left after the illegals were rounded up. So it is a MYTH that illegals fill jobs that Americans won't do. I am not black, but it seems that poor blacks (as well as poor whites) are being shortchanged by this illegal immigrant problem. What are we to do? They are all marching - why aren't we?

Because if we take off work to march we will be fired and our jobs given to the illegals. My company shut down the day of the marches and paid them overtime to make up the work on Saturday.

If problems were solved, what would the candidates bicker about come election time? The whole point of politics is the argument not the solution. For example, the Wall on the Border. Its not continuous. They are building a wall with holes miles wide. Its not supposed to be a solution its an issue to argue. Seriously 40-50 years and America's "best and brightest" cant figure out how to stop the flood? Its a scam. Democrats help the illegals to get the Latin vote. Republicans shake their finger and demand that the illegals stay in their country of origin (Mexico isn't the only one) to attract the nationalistic vote.

Isn't the illegals' fault if these companies are recruiting a cheaper worker to save money, if an illegal has family of course he/she will accept, they have to feed their families in the same way you have to. Why many of us are lining up now and we didn't do so before? Why we always let the politicians o decide for us? Is time to stand to tell the politicians to stop doing the stupidities they are doing and that is time to start to work for the people. I don't see the immigrants, legals nor illegals, as the problem, every body have the right to look for something better, I'm sure about the work I do and I don't have to be scared for them. When you are sure that you give your 100% you don't need to fear anything. The fault if from these companies' owners and our lazy politicians. Why they don't make arrangements with this people's countries to bring workers in a legal way to do some jobs? Don't tell me everybody love to work in the tomatoes, potatoes, etc. farms? So is up to we to tell them that we got nothing against immigrants, is against them. For the year 2008 let see if we learned something and that's the year to show it by changing the morons we've stood for the last 8 years.

Depending which view you want to see...if you are an employer, it will be of more advantage to have illegals. In general, they will work harder and demand less salary and benefits than the "poor american." As an employer, all you care for is having the biggest profit, regardless of how you go about it. This meat packing company paid millions. Surely, illegals had to do a lot with this success.

On the employee side, the poor american is losing ground on possible jobs. It is hard to compete with their willingness to work anywhere, anytime, and accepting minimal salaries...

Tough topic, only time will tell where these politicians will take this...

As Americans we want to be paid a fair wage,we want medical benefits,401k,union representation etc. Here is a group of people who are willing to work for half of what we want to be paid and could care less about the other benefits. The companies look at hiring them a way to save thousands of dollars. I know of many companies who just will not hire American people. As far as the politicians go,we all know they are vote-hungry and will do just about anything for votes. They say one thing before elections and do the exact opposite after voted in. Most politicians have special int rests in these low paying companies. Who do you think gives them those hefty campaign contributions ?

I've come to understand that if US can send two border patrol guys to prison for seizing a drug runner with dope and give him amnesty, then anything goes. If you're waiting for them to become concerned about the 40% or so that come over US border from N. Korea, China, ME W/O US knowing who they are don't waste your time. I think they're all wrapped up in the New World Order(it's on the net).

We need to rally together. Just like the minute men, we need to spread the word and keep our voices hear. I think the young woman's question on yahoo answers on having a march is valid. We should all consider that seriously.
