I always hand write the cards and I always name the gift specifically. Business gifts do not require a lengthy 'chatty' thank you card, it is a polite acknowledgment of the gift.

2. State how you intend to use/enjoy it.
3. Wish them well.
4. (optional) Give them a little update on how you are/what you are doing recently.
5. Thank them again, and kindly end the note. (Sincerely, Best Wishes, Warm Thoughts, etc...)
