hitch up my tv, dvd player and vcr so that i can record whats playing on the dvd player onto my vcr? also is there a website to show me how to do this?

Probably not. Most VCRs have a protection circuit that will not allow you to record from any copyrighted source, such as a DVD player. DVD burners are the same, they will not let you copy material that has been copy protected.
