It knocks the pride out of of person to have to admit they're a sinner before a Holy God. I think this is what keeps most people away from Salvation.

Pride is doing things the way you would like to do them instead of Gods way.
Whether Jesus was chastizing the religious people of the day, healing the sick, or simply seeking the Father he was being humble by being obedient to Gods will. Many confuse being a doormat or being poor with being humble but humility is not anything apart from obedience.
"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

Of course humble people know God. In fact, humble people probably know Him better than some proud, arrogant people!

I have no idea ...
But I do know a lot of people who think they know god and think that he listens to every word they say, watches every move they make, takes care of them 24*7*365, loves them unconditionally, and is planning to spend eternity with them.
Is that humble? I'm not sure ...
Happy Holidays

ummm, actually Adam and Eve were not incorrect.
and the serpent never lied.
see, the ACT of rebelling, by going against what they were told, simply by eating from the tree, their eyes were opened to their free will and power to defy what they were told.
in that sense, they DID become "as god" compared to the beasts, in that they were conciously aware of the difference and their choice to act in a good or bad way.

Humility is often found in the victim personality. True humilty is not total humility, but is mixed with some pride in ones self. Everything in moderation...
