Keep calling the police. I don't know where you live but you may be able to go file a grievance or complaint at the Police Office.

I'm not sure what community you're in. Provided that you're living in a town or municipality then quite likely there are ordinances against the discharge of a firearm within the town or city limits. In some cases it may be willing to discharge a firearm but only during daylight. You need to find out what the local statues and ordinances are.
If you learn that the time and/or manner in which he is discharging the weapon is illegal and the police department is unable or unwilling to do anything you may get a list of neighbors that are willing to testify and approach the local prosecutor's office.
Generally speaking, gun control is an evil position. The second amendment was written for the purpose of protecting the populace from an abusive and tyranical government that may be propped up by a standing army. This was the intent of the Founding Fathers in passing this amendment. Many people mistakenly believe that the National Guard satisfies this amendment. It does not for 3 reasons. First, their weapons are the property of the government and are locked away under the control of the government. Second, they are a government military organization of a type the second amendment was designed to protect us against if it ever came to it. Third, the government will claim that the National Guard's history dates back to 1636. However, what they are referring to is a militia. The National Guard didn't exist until the Dick Act of 1903. Anything before that were private citizens only banding together in times of crisis, funded by the participants and their neighbors, bearing private arms.
So, yes there is a just cause for the second amendment. However, that does not supercede your right to be safe in your home and land.

Obviously you live in America..In Australia (since a horrendous massacre 10 years ago) national gun control measures came into place. You must register for a gun license, either as a farmer or a member of a gun club. It appears that people in the US are terribly hung up on owning firearms. Look at the result... You have a shockingly serious crime rate. Guns are NOT needed by every individual in a moderate society. I guess this means the US is not one... Keep calling the police about the tosser!!

You need to keep reporting him as the others have said and try getting it on video if possible. See about maybe asking a officer over one night for coffee etc.. and maybe they can catch him in the act this time. As for your thought on the IQ test for ownership I have a question for you. Who decideds the proper IQ and who would adminster the test? Do you let the polticans decide that? Would not having a PHD be reason enough not to let YOU own said firearm? Keep trying the police in the meantime

What is wrong with loving to shoot off a gun, nothing.Gun control is being able to hit what you are aiming at. If everyone owned guns and knew how to use them maybe we wouldnt have all the problems we do. Years ago everyone had guns and thats how they greeted strangers arriving on their property. Guns help us all to insure our safety. And I agree with the fact that unfortunately it is mostly from our own govt. Yes your neighbor is an irresponsible idiot for shooting up, instead of down into the ground. Have you ever tried asking him to please shoot into the ground instead of in the air?

Most gun owners in this country are responsible, law abiding citizens, exercising their Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Your neighbor is not one of those. As others have pointed out, contact your local police and file a complaint. Where I live it's not illegal to discharge your firearms in your yard, providing it doesn't leave your property. Shooting into the air is irresponsible and probably criminal behavior.

What your neighbor is doing is highly illegal. Everything that goes up must come down and he has absolutely no control where it will land...for all he knows it could land on a small child.
The next time I heard it I would call 911.
These ignorant asses need to be reported!

I don't think there is anything wrong with Gun Ownership, but you do have to be respectful of your nieghbors and fire your weapon only at approved training facilities and in cases of extreme danger.
Firing wildly into the air is dangerous.
Yes this guy should be ticketed.
