Yes here is a recipe and some sites with other recipes:
2 cloves garlic—roughly chopped
¼ cup lemon juice
¼ cup water
14 oz (400g) canned chickpeas (garbanzo beans)—rinsed and drained
½ cup tahini
1 teaspoon sea salt
PLACE all ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until smooth, scraping the sides occasionally.
Variations: If you like a spicier hummus, add a small red chili (chopped) or a pinch of cayenne pepper, or try a little cumin for a more exotic variation.
Tip: Prepare extra quantities of hummus—it can be refrigerated, covered, for up to 1 week and frozen for up to 3 months.

YES YOU CAN! THIS IS HOW MY FATHER MAKES IT, FIRST HE TAKES OUT A CAN OF CHICK PEAS,THEN HE DRAINS OUT THE WATER OF THE CHICK PEAS! THEN HE CUTS 1 PIECE OF GARLIC AND ALSO PUTS IT IN THE BLENDER WITH THE DRAINED CHICK PEAS! HE CUTS UP 1 OR 2 LEMONS {DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH LEMONS U WANT} AND SQUEEZES OUT THE JUICE AND TAKES THE LEMON JUICE AND PUT IT IN THE BLENDER! HE TAKES A POTATOES AND CUTS ONE LITTLE THIN PIECE AND PUTS IT IN THE BLENDER! THEN HE BLENDS IT ON HIGH UNTIL THERE ARE NO CHUNKS OF ANYTHING! THEN HE PUT THE HUMMUS IN THE BOWL AND ADDS TAHINI { U CAN FIND TAHINI IN UR LOCAL GROCERY STORE!} AND STIRS! HE ADDS A LITTLE PINCH OF PAKPEREKA AND PUTS EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL! THEN HE GETS READY TO EAT! ENJOY!

I don't see why you couldn't I have used both and prefer to use my food processor. I have found that you need to add a little to much liquid to the blended version. I hope that I have been of some help to you.

I don't see why not, but do it on low speed so it won't become too liquid. If you have access to a food processor, that might work better.
