if you're only downloading music then it's fairly safe especially if you know that most songs are about 5 mb so only download the stuff that are around that size. Also, don't download any games or programs through it since those are usually viruses.

If you have a great anti-virus program, then that's even better but just have an idea of the size the things you want to download and match it with the search results or else bad stuff can really come in and mess up your computer.

I've been using limewire for years
if there's a corrupt file - it usually alerts you with a pop up window - all you do is click to stop / clear the download
once that's done - go in to the incomplete folder and delete it then go to the recycle bin - right click on the icon (on the desktop) and click Empty Recycle Bin

as with any p2p program - there's always a risk of downloading viruses / spyware /adware
always keep your virus scan program updated on a regular basis and always scan the files/programs you download before opening them
and you might want to install a spyware program (such as spybot:search & destroy) and an adware program (such as adaware) and run those once in a while to scan your computer as well

It's Illegal... but if that doesn't turn you down, all the rest are ups. The virus thing is a rumor, an untrue one. You only get viruses if you download weird stuff. You need to know a little about file sizes to keep safe. Also, for good measure, make sure you have anti-virus software like McAfee or Norton

If you have a clue as to how to use it and not download the viruses and spyware yourself, it's a great program. There are some idiots out there though that download ****, and then get pissed off at Limewire when their computer breaks down.

I wouldn't downloading almost anything on there is illegal, and they have been suing the pants off of people who have like 100 songs on their computer. I would be careful on that front. On the other, it is the safest P2P downloader out there, although it may have viruses it's the least likely to.

i dont think you should get it. sure its free, but its also illegal. people use it to get music free, but people also get terrible viruses. fi you do use it make sure you have a good blocker. my friend's pc blocked thousands of viruses in the matter of a week because of limewire. another friend of mine got a terrible virus that messed up her pc. i use itunes. its legal and i like that. plus you dont have to worry about so many viruses

Yes if you have a Really Good Virus Blocker and Firewall.
And No if you don't because your computer will probably get pretty messed up....

it's relatively safe as long as you have anti-viral/spyware software. Just make sure that everything checks out. A song that should be 10 minutes long can't fit in a 1MB file, etc.
