A friend of mine wanted to know if girls think less of guys who have, in the past, been dumped by their girlfriends? If a guy you liked told you he had been dumped by his ex would you still be with him or not? Would it not matter? I told him it wouldn't matter but he doesn't believe me. But that's just my opinion. He wants to know what other girls think. Older girls. I hope I receive good, honest, mature answers.

No it would not matter, the girl was probably unappreciative of him and took him for granted.

I've never thought about it... but honestly, I wouldn't care if my boyfriend had been dumped previously because it doesn't really matter. It would be her loss anyway! A guy shouldn't feel ashamed just because a girl (or a few girls) broke up with him, it just happens and it might not even be his fault!
And P.S., now that I think of it, I would be more hesitant to date a guy who's broken up with all his girlfriends, than date a guy who's been dumped by all his girlfriends. But really, it doesn't matter all that much, because that was history!

Well i'm older I think i'm 22 and no it doesn't matter how many times a guy has been dumped. If he's a great guy then he's future girl will realize how stupid the other girls were letting him go. Tell you're friend not to worry about it and go out and find himself some hot chick lol. Tell him Good Luck from me!!

Let him know that EVERYONE gets dumped at some point in their life. I am 36 years old, and have been cheated on, dumped, lied to, etc. That being said, I have also "dumped" men. All that matters is how you 2 treat each other and how you 2 get along. Who you were with/why you broke up shouldn't even matter.

People get dumped for many different reasons. It could have been that his ex dumped him because of issues that SHE had herself. Even if it was "his fault" that she got dumped, I that could in some instances actually be a good thing. He is now a more humble guy, and probably learned a lesson or two about how to treat someone in a relationship.
So, no. I would not think less of him just because he was dumped.

I am older. Let me say, that wouldn't matter to me at all. When you get out in the world most people have either started or ended several relationships. I would just ask that he be honest about why someone might have decided to call it quits but only if he were married before.

okay....i don't care whether a guy has been dumped or not...although... if he has had a lot of girlfriends and never been dumped i might think less of him because what is going to stop him from using me and then dumping me when he's done?
if some girl is really into a guy...then it won't matter.....

I agree with you on this. It doesn't matter if he got dumped by his ex. That would be stupid for a female not to date a guy not saying she's stupid just not dating him for that reason but I for one won't care about that. So tell him that another one has agreed with you.

It doesn't matter - most people have been or will be dumped by their b/f or g/f at one point in their lives. That doesn't make them a "bad person" - this simply means that they were not meant to be.

Of course not. If I liked a guy I wouldn't care if he had been dumped by his ex. (as long as he were over her now) It happens to everyone at one point.
