I am co-hosting a baby shower this weekend and we are having it at 10:30 in the morning so we were thinking about having just a brunch type meal, such as light breakfast foods but we are open to just about any suggestions. Thanks!

Ok this is a little time consuming but is always a big hit at baby showers. Sounds perfect for the time of day you are giving the shower too.

It's called: Sandwich Loaf

Ingredients:
16 slices of bread (crust cut off)
Mayo
Ham slices (lunch meat)
Cheese slices (from the deli)
Egg salad

2 lbs. of cream cheese
1-2 tbls milk
red or blue food coloring

Take 4 slices of uncrusted bread and lay them end to end in a row...put mayo on all 4 slices then put a layer of cheese 2-3 pieces high, then another layer of bread and mayo, then the layer of ham 3 pieces high, again another layer of bread and mayo, then the egg salad, then your last layer of bread.
Now take the 2 lbs of softened cream cheese and beat with the milk...Now add food coloring (food coloring: red= pink and blue of course= baby blue) and beat. Cover/icing the sandwich loaf in the whipped cream cheese mixture and refrigerate, until the cream cheese firms back up. (also for a little extra flavor you can add a little brine from a jar of stuffed green olives).
If you know what the baby will be you can make just one of the colors....if not I usually make two of these loaves anyhow and make one pink one and one blue one. Also a good idea is to cut off the end of the sandwich loaf so people can see that it is NOT CAKE...which is what most people assume. Good luck ....I know its a little time consuming but I promise it will be a big hit!!

Silver Dollar Pancakes w/different fillings:

*Cream cheese
*Sausage
*Jellies
*Scrambled eggs w/cheese or sausage

Breakfast Burritos filled w/scrambled eggs/cheese and/or sausage

*Ciche

A great beverage is Punch w/ice cream.....

Just before the event begins....get a punch bowl and add a 1/2 gallon of Neapolitan Ice Cream. Pour 3/4 liter bottles of Cherry or plain 7-up over the ice cream.....Goes very well w/such a function....

If you are trying to achieve a baby-like theme I am afraid I personally cannot help. However I did find some webistes that had some great ideas, like fruit salad, punces, etc. I am going to include those links for you. The Southernfood link is already selected on brunch like items.

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://bitly.im/aND7J

The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

You can always do a big fruit bowl with melons, strawberries, grapes (both green and red) and any other fruit that suits your fancy. Allrecipes.com has some great breakfast casserole recipes. Don't forget the OJ and champagne (for those who can drink it, those who can't can mix it with club soda). You can buy various Danishes, pastries, bagels and muffin, don't forget the cream cheese for the bagels. Put those in a pretty basket.

Breakfast pizza works good. You use a butter sauce on pizza dough and top it off with the same toppings as a breakfast burrito.

Also can do mini pancakes in different shapes, fruit salads, etc.

Cupcakes with pink and/or blue frosting. Mini anything! To make little booties to put candies in:
take little paper cups (like they put meds in at the hospital) and glue a cotten ball to the side. Wrap the "bootie" in a tissue and tie the top pastel ribbon.
