Dated on and off for five years. He would like to be friends (but we're more than). How should I make him want me?

you can never make anyone want you.
try to get his attention every now and then. guys always want what they can't have.

Go ahead, and just be his friend.
Then, go out and start dating other men. Pick one or two and tell him, as a friend, just how much you like this other guy or guys every once in a while. When he wants to hang out as friends, decline his invite at least once in a while because you have a date. Make him jealous, but not obviously so. And definitely don't give him any sexual contact as long you guys are "just friends".
He'll want to mark his terrority and claim you within a month or two. If not, you need to move on.

Dont try its been 5 yrs. Youre more of a friend with benefits. Move on find someone what wants a relationship with you.
