His methods are effective for dogs who would otherwise be put down because of ssevere temperament problems (dogs who probably SHOULD be put down). Some of his ideas are totally ridiculous and his extreme methods would be very detrimental to the average dog. Perhaps some of his staunch supporters should be doing a little follow up to check up on some of the dogs he's miraculously "cured" a month later. Find out that their behavious has regressed. What he does is great for him and some of the dogs he's worked with. Regular dogs do much better with methods of trainers like German Shepherd breeder, Suzanne Clothier.

I think that some of his techniques can work for some dogs, but it's not always for every dog. He's there to directly address a dog's personality and be able to establish a training method that will best suit that dog. In some cases it can work for others, but I have seen it not as well.

Over all, I think the guy is pretty good at what he does, but that it's most beneficial to those who work with him directly.

I have seen a few episodes. Some of his techniques are extreme. He does know dogs and dog behaviors, but I have not made up my mind whether like him or not. I am kind of on the line. Some things I like, some I don't.

thats so funny im watching his show.. i really like it because his message is that DOGS are not humans and people treat them like humans. I like that he also gives dogs a chance. i have seen some of the shows and most of the dog owners do no want to put the dog to sleep which i really like. :) so far no complaints regarding ceasar milan :)

He was on Oprah today. I don't get National Geographic, but from what I've seen of his techniques - he is great. His techniques appear effective and humane. I think more people should buy his book. I plan to.

He has tremendous control with animals. I have read his book and watched many episodes of his show. I found quick results in training my husky. Treating a dog like a human does not work, and he teaches humans how to be "pack leaders". It can be so easy when you learn what a dog needs.

I have used his advice with my staff at my job where I am the manager...remain calm and assertive..it really does work. I have used some of his techniques on my pit bull and they really do work. He has come along way in his life, if you have resd his book you know that he came from nothing, and what a success he had become. $$$$

I think the man is great. No yelling, fantastic. He gets the job done. Seeing his dogs tells the story. I have Dog Whisper thanks to my daughter, & it's wonderful. I missed him today on Oprah :( I have a little dog & the little that I have tried is working. I want to do a lot more with her when the weather is nice. The big thing is her not wanting her nails clipped & I'd love to find out how to go about that. She will not pass me on the stairs, thanks to Cesar or run me over getting to her food. Give justice where justice is due....the man knows his stuff inside & out, the dog world is his and he is passing it on to us.

First, you only see the edited version of the show. I would heed the show's advice and not try any techniques at home. You obviously don't see the trial and error, mistakes, etc. It's a TV show for entertainment and understanding, not education.
