I always hear that "everyone has their burden to carry". Its something that is easy to forget when you become self absorbed in your own burdens. My burden is depression, generalized anxiety and panic attacks. What is your burden? What weighs heavily on your heart?

Thank you all for sharing something so deeply personal. It would be impossible and unfair to choose a "Best Answer". I wish all of you the best from the bottom of my heart. May the New Year lighten your loads and bless you with life's richest blessings!

My burden? Like you I have battled depression, the bipolar disorder type. I have also just had open heart surgery 3 months ago and now am in treatment for emphysema and pulmonary fibrosis, a condition with a prognosis of about 4-6 years of life remaining. But for the time being all is well!

Thanks for caring enough to ask.

Sincerely,
Terry

I try to live happily, but one of my burdens is my future. Will I get into college? Once I graduate, will I find a job? Will I die alone when my children all move away? Sometimes I also think odd things like 'What if I had cancer?' and things like that. Don't really know if that's a burden, but it's not a pleasant thought.

My son is my burden and also my joy. He came back from the Gulf War in shell shocked condition and is only recently starting to get better but will never be the same.

My burden is the same as yours, but I take medication for it and feel great. College costs are also a burden.

Dad died suddenly without apparent cause 3 weeks ago-
did I say or do enough for him to be proud of me?
Or did I blow him off like I usually did
thinking I always have tomorrow to talk to him or do a favor for him
