Why would we be insecure? It's not talking about gay issues that put people in an uproar. It's the "facts" or "studies" that are stated (that are usually wrong) that makes people upset. And it's not just a religious thing

It has nothing to do with being insecure. It's funny you should use the word "insecure" as the reason. I have a few gay friends and each one of them happen to be extremely insecure. Anyway... The reason is that it goes against Bible teachings and how the Bible says God wants us to live our lives. Whether or not you believe in the Bible is the Key here. 1 Corinthians 6:9 proclaims that homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God. Homosexuality is immoral and unnatural. It is a perversion of the "natural order" and more importantly, God's view of sex. With all that said, the Bible does not describe homosexuality as a “greater” sin than any other. All sin is offensive to God. Homosexuality is just one of the many things listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that will keep a person from the kingdom of God. According to the Bible, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17). Peace and Love :p

It's funny. I personally think that the most sexually immature group in the world is the fundamentalist right-wing white male. Exemplified in the Westboro Baptist Church, it's obvioius that anything outside of their paradigm is infinitely disruptive to their psyches. Yes, women are affected, but for some reaon, not usually as much.

Then again, there is the typical "I'd love to have a threesome with two lesbians" character. Again this shows the immaturity involved, as they seem to think that any lesbian might just want to be involved with a man.

The point is that these people have no idea what homosexuality is about. Preachers tell their sickening stories, spread lies, try to convince the world that because it used to be considered a disease, it must be so now... It's ignorance run riot.

Alcoholism wasn't once thought a disease, and has been proven to be so. Schizophrenia used to be considered demon posession.

Relition doesn't have the answer to all of the world's ills. It never shall. That's why we were given brains... we need to figure some stuff out on our own.

Insecurity is a symptom of ignorance and fear, coupled with an unwillingness to learn. That's it.

The religious community follow rules. Rules that are basically saying the gay community is wrong in every thing they believe. Their life is not insecure just very structured where as yours is a melee' of disconnected thoughts. Sucks to be stereotyped doesn't it? Looks like it's another war zone over here huh? Another "our team is better than yours" scenario! How immature it all is! Looks like some "Harry high School" gibberish!

I have a two part answer for this:

1. In the Bible, homosexuality is considered the last sign of a society's downfall - in the account of God destroying Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis, chapter 19 talks about the depravity of the town because the men, young and old, came to sexually molest the angels that came to rescue Lot - people do not want the judgment of God to be delivered upon our nation for the sin of homosexuality that is clearly stated in both the old and new testaments of the Bible.

2. The second part of this answer, in my opinion, is that the American Church does not want to answer for the sin that is still residing in its own walls, so it strikes out against that around it to cover its own sins. Ted Haggard is a most recent example of this - not to mention all of the adultery that can be found within its walls.

Demon Lord ~ you're easily precise. Heterosexual adult adult males in straightforward terms have a subject with different adult adult males being gay..yet will gladly get off to lesbian porn, and think of that lesbians oftentimes existence is warm. this is the main hypocritical ingredient. i do no longer see something incorrect with homosexuality. i'm a theist, yet i could by no skill agree this is this is a sin in any way. Love is love no count the way you slice it and persons ought to provide up judging others for attempting to stay their existence with somebody who cares approximately them, even however they seem to be a similar gender. there are such various larger themes in this international that we must be getting to, yet we insist on focusing on something it quite is no one's business corporation however the persons option to steer a definite existence sort.

The religious community likes to hide behind the Bible to avoid facing real life - it seems especially prevalent in the past few years with that azzhole we call our president that has an agenda based on focusing on issues that aren't that that relevant to others - see the answers below mine. Yeah, I hear the crap every day about "one man one woman = marriage" or whatever ... it's crap, and we just have to keep on with our beliefs the same as the religious right wing. You may as well ask why we don't condone stem cell research because the US is being brainwashed by the same bulls hit hypocrisy as the gay community is getting.

Because being gay is offensive.
What a bunch of suck ups here.
You donot display open mindedness, but foolishness parading around as openmindedness because you have been so brainwashed.
It is like watching all the people in the story of the Emperors New Clothes.
That is a good lesson for the crowd of menpleasers and followers who live for acceptance and cannot take a individual stand, they will betray reason itself in order to go with the crowd.Suck ups

I didn't realize gay people had issues.....and what do religious people have to be insecure about?

Gay people sometimes say that God made a mistake in making that person a man or a woman.....when they are created.....perhaps it is a mix up. Did the angel who brings the soul to a baby...get a mix up? the angel brought a boy's soul to a girls body or a girls soul to a boys body????

Actually Gays have always been with us since biblical times. But really this is the first time in earths history that gays have gone from lifestyle to attempting to redefine the very fabrics of society such as family and parents and marriage.
