i used to have really good clear skin with minimal pimples. Now zits are flaring up again. Does not drinking water and not exercising alot have something to do with this?

Yes, water flushes out the toxins, and without the water the toxins stay in your body and can inflame the pores. Exercise also sweats out the toxins!

i dont know what half of these people are smoking but food has no effect on acne, go to a dermatologist or a good cosmetologist who administers facials and they will tell you that. It all depends on what skin type you have. I have an oily skin type and I used harsh cleansers that would dry up my face, which would then make my face produce even more oils to clog my pores. i turned to a basic cleanser and a moisturizer. When I was actively exercising and drinking 8 glasses of water a day, my face never broke out, so in my opinion, i think that helps. plus drinking water naturally makes your complexion better in a sense that your face will appear less dry. and for those who say hormones have no effect are idiots as well. hormones play a somewhat significant part. why do a lot of teenagers get acne? because their hormones are at a high production. And when they exit adolescence and their time of raging hormones, most teenagers' acne leaves. You should evaluate your routines and see what you were doing before that you are not doing now, that might, if you cant think of anything, youll just have to endure the acne or you could go see a dermatologist. good luck to ya.

Complexion

What really seems "yucky" to me is a story my mother once told me. When she was in high school in the early twenties, the young girls would get a "wet" baby diaper and wipe their faces, thinking their complexions would be improved!! Doris Goldsborough

My French-Canadian grandmother had more than her share of memorable cures but that which I remember best was the application of a tiny bit of tomato avec skin on a boil or pimple that would not come to a head, held on by tape, or later a Band-Aid. Generally within 24 hours said pimple was "ready for popping." Howard E.Congdon

If you feel a pimple coming up, rub in a little toothpaste and it practically disappears overnight. Rhonda

Pimples can be brought to a head with hot, wet, washclothes. Don Ryan

Red Clover flowers(dryed ones seem are better) and Golden seal are both natural blood cleaners taken together (legally I can not say it will work as a cure)(**) But "maybe it will" clean up acne. One should make a tea (use honey to sweeten if nessary) Golden seal smells and tastes really ucky. Take 8 to 10 Red clover flowers, 1/4 ts Golden seal. Place into a large cup (6 to 8 oz) fill with boiling water. Let stand for 8 to 10 minuets. Drank it twice a day for 3 to 5 days. Use as needed. Mike

My mother taught me how to cure your pimples - You drink a lot of water, for one thing. Or to get rid of them overnight, before you go to bed, wash your face thoroughly. Then take some rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and rub it on your face wherever you have pimples. Take some antibacterial ointment, and after the rubbing alcohol has dried (only a few seconds), rub the ointment where ever there are pimples or zits, and where ever you rubbed the alcohol. Leave the ointment on overnight, and within the next few days, all of your pimples will be cured! This really works, I tried it and the next morning they weren't that noticeable, and then the next morning they were gone!! It was really cool. -Claire Wilson

To prevent/cure acne, seperate an egg, and bust the yolk. Apply the yolk to your skin 2-3 times daily for a week, washing it off 10 minutes after every application. The results are noticeable immediately. Casey

Yes but here is something you could do start drinking water again and exercising a bit more and also every morning put cold water on your face and that will close the pores on your skin and no dirt or anything will get in your pores which causes zits and pimples....hopes this help

Also, don't forget that zits are hormonal and can flare up with changes in stress or yout hormone levels. A common cause for people in their 20s to have zits re-appear all of a sudden, is with pregnancy or stress related issues.

drinking lots of water is great for your skin! but if you dont drink adequate amounts of water its not going to cause you to break out. not exercising wouldnt make you break out either, actually sweating may make breakouts worse. it most likely has something to do with your hormones, since you have gone from minimal to flare up and also if you have noticed that your skin is more oily now.

there is a bunch of factors into your acne resurfacing.
hormones, not enough water and the way you clean your face.
have a skin care regimen that works for you for ex.. i use proactiv and yes it takes its time to work but you need to stick with it and hopefully you have luck in any of these... what did you do to wash your face and to keep it clear before??

Usually pimples are caused by hormonal changes, unless you are not taking care of your skin at all.

water and workouts definitely helped clear my skin. stress causes my breakouts and since running helps me relax, i think it also helps with the zits. i definitely recommend Murad - i've been using it for years and it works wonders!
