Ali had the smarts as well as the brawn; He'd be 80% likely to beat iron Mike.

Ali stands at about 6"3 and Tyson would've have a problem reaching Ali. Ali would've beat Tyson because Ali was too smart. He had every weapon you need - Power, Quickness, Reach, Good Jab, Rope-A-Dope, and superior mind games. Ali would've said something clever and got right into Tyson's head. For example I could hear a reporter asking Ali whose going to win the fight and Ali would've said something like "I'm too pretty, and he's a pity". You know how Ali was? This question will go on for the ages. But pure boxing fans know who would've won - Muhammed Ali.

I have no doubt that Mohammed Ali would win this fight.First I think Mike Tyson was over rated, sure he demolished his competition but his competition paled in comparison to the men that Ali defended his title against.Tyson fought the likes of Michael Spinks,Frank Bruno and countless others. Compare that to Ali who fought Frazier,Foreman, Liston just to name a few. When Tyson finally fought an opponent with fair to good boxing skill he was soundly beaten.Hollyfield, Douglas and Lewis each exposed Tyson and I don't believe any of the aforementioned fighters had the skill set that Mohammed ali possessed in his prime.

I would give the win to Ali. Ali was a much smarter fighter, in his prime he was much quicker, his Jab would be the key against Tyson. Mike was strictly a power puncher. Now let's compare Mike fight with Buster Douglas. Buster Douglas in that fight reminded me of Ali. The Jab and move, one, two. Buster Douglas fought Tyson exactly the way I see Ali fighting Tyson. Also George Forman in his prime reminded me of a larger Tyson. Lots of power. Since he is the closest resemblance to Tyson that Ali fought, I give Ali the edge. Tyson closest comparison would be Buster Douglas in that fight and you know the results. Ali would be the winner, to smart, to pretty, to quick, with his tongue he'd talk Tyson out of the fight. Some will compare the Frazier-Ali Fight that was after the three year lay off.

We can look to comparable fighters, Ali vs Frazier. Frazier proved Ali could be hit, two of the three fights between them were wars. Tyson had a similar style to Frazier but had faster hands, much more power, better defense. My only question is stamina and will to win which Mike seemed lacking in both. I think if Ali makes it to the 6th round it is smooth sailing to a late round tko or an easy decision. If Tyson manages to corner him or get him on the ropes he could put him away.
People will point to the Buster Douglas fight as how Ali would dominate Tyson but I want to point out that Tyson was alreay in decline. Iron Mike peaked the night he fought Michael Spinks, after that fight he fired Kevin Rooney and Don King replaced him with a no talent yes man in Aaron Snowell, a trainer with no experience who could not motivate Mike Tyson to train and potentially cost him the Douglass fight when we didn't even bring an enswell(A piece of metal that is kept in ice water and used to control swelling)to the ring, When Tysons right eye started swelling they could nto control it and by the 7th round Tyson was a one eyed fighter.

Muhamed (sp?) Ali for sure. He would win after tiring poor Mike out on purpose. Ali is the more intelligent fighter and understands his adversaries better, especially one like Mike Tyson.

ali was fast but so was mike, ali could move around the ring, tyson could cut off the ring.ali could jab mike could slip jabs.now ali has been knocked down by men with much less power than mike.tyson was an animal when it came to finsih someone off.if he would had knocked the greatest down and he got back up...it would have only been a matter of time..tyson 2rd.ko.

I'm no fan of the "Greatest," but Ali would jab a severely confused and outclassed Tyson to death. He would probably force "Iron Mike" to run out of the ring in embarrassment and tattoo whatever free space is left on his head.

Ali would throw to many combinations and his movement would be a little to much for mike to handle. He would frustrate mike and would have knocked him out in the later rounds, like he did george foreman.
