According to the Department of Justice there are 49,000 completed carjackings that occur in the US each year and 96% of those result in physical injury. Since 1992 there have been over 10,000 car jackings resulting in death of the driver and/or the occupants. Seems car theft isnt such a subtle crime...

Most states have a law dealing with stolen cars.The second charge would be grand or petty theft.

I thought grand theft was anything over 500. I could be wrong though.
