I think we have maybe 13 bibles left. We've been shipping them to Haiti for a new seminary there.
My devotions consist of a prayer cycle:
Sunday worship of God in praise/Monday - family/Tuesday - religion and churches/ Wed. friends/ Thurs. gov in all forms inc. homeless shelters etc/ Friday all healers/ Sat all.
Weekdays also include 1 continent for each day w/ all the nations of that continent listent.
If one reads 7 chapters of the Bible a day - not from front to back or you die in Lev. or Chr., but 4 or 5 in order w/ a Psalm or NT added, you will get through it in a year.
I share this because I find it very helpful to have a specific day to pray for specific issues i.e. my doctor or a country in civil war.

I try to. I like to read a Proverbs a day. I read the day of Proverbs because there are 31 Proverbs. I have done it for two years now. But I also read a devotional book by Max Lucado which is very good.

I have several Bibles that I like to use while studying because they are of different translations, but I really want to explain this to the ones who may be unfamiliar and raise issues about the different translations.

The concept remains the same, but its like using a thesaurus. They do not contradict each other and before anyone says something negative about the different translations, please first look at several and compare the wording.

It is just like in different parts of the country people use different words that mean the same. A very elementary example would be, he placed the dish in the cupboard - another might say, he placed the dish in the cabinet.

When I write certain articles and I look words up in a thesaurus, I will also go to the dictionary and look up each word before I select the one I feel has the best meaning of what I'm trying to say, but it doesn't change my story.

As for having devotions everyday, wow, that's a hard one, because I hate facing the truth when I'm asked this question.

No, I don't. I want to read my Bible every day and spend time meditating on what I've just read, allowing the holy Spirit time to tell me what God wants me to hear. And I hate giving a lack of time as an excuse because we can certainly find time to do the stuff we want to do, polish toes, watch a movie, or even cook a meal. If we did not do our study that day, God would rather see us heat up a can of soup than spend time cooking a meal.

Remember the story of Mary & Martha when Martha was complaining to Jesus about how Mary would not help her out in the kitchen get food ready for them to all eat? Mary was busy spending time worshipping Jesus and He told Martha she was worrying about things that really did not matter and that Mary had chosen the right thing to do.

Then again there is another way to answer your question and my above answer is toward what I think you meant with having devotions, everyday, studying from His Word?

Otherwise, devotions can be done in any manner throughout the day as it means setting aside everything else to devote yourself to the one importance, in our case Christ.

Devotions can be done while doing dishes, folding clothes, driving to work, or on a walk, anywhere that you can devote your mind and thoughts toward God and done in an attiude of prayer.

My daughter and I play the ABC memory game when we walk our dogs, I'm going to take a trip to the ocean and I'm going to take with me...

Rather than worldly goods we do in the form of prayers, I 'm gooing to pray for Aaron to get an A on his test, or I'm going to pray that I will eat more apples each day to be healthier. And the person has to repeat the whole request (not word for word, but similar), and when we are at the letter D or even the letter S, we still have to repeat everything that was said for all the other letters before we go on to the new letter yet to be said.

Problem, is each time it comes around we are always thinking of something else to add to each letter. Such as the letter A may have started out with just Aaron, but when it came back to me, I thought of my desire to eat healthier, or even the other person may come up with something they want to add to the letter even if it had not been originally their's.

We are never able to finish the alphabet because each letter ends up with such a long list or in how we word it when we are reciting them. We try and do it in an attitude of prayer also, but we are laughing a lot, which I'm sure many times Jesus is laughing right along with us.

Sorry this is so long. My fingers are just as bad as my mouth, they never stop!

In our house, there are many bibles. Sadly, as the father and spiritual leader of my home, I have to say that I fall down in the area of devotions. :(

I presently have Catholic and Protestant Bibles here. I try to read the (all the) Bible often (about 3-4 times this year), but I am sure I miss reading it on days too.

EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE A BIBLE, both believer and non-believer alike.

I have many Bibles and I find someone that don't have one I give them one of mine.

I pray everyday and try to have devotionals daily.I have found that the more I put in the more I get back.

My life is so much easier when I devote myself to the Lord.

Its true that He does take care of His people, its amazing what He will do for the ones that love Him.

THE MORE YOU GIVE THE MORE YOU GET, and the more He blesses

WOW ! what a wonderful God we have...
