My hair is like yours, only with a tiny bit of curls. First thing to try is a good perm--one of the ones where you leave the curlers in your hair overnight. This is the only kind that will last more than an hour.
Another thing to try is some leave in protein treatment. I use Infusium every morning. There's a big difference from using that stuff.
Look at your hair and see if it is damaged--are there lots of broken hairs? If so, you'll need to be more gentle to your hair and definitely get some protein treatment.
Get a straight cut--it will keep the most hair thickness all the way down your hair. Layering only makes it thinner.

ryt av got a very funy suggestion but its worked for my sister.
get this oil - called AMLA HAIR OIL it has a smell to it - but v good for growing hair. wear it for afew hours evry day or 2,and after bou 3 weeks your hair will strat to look healthier.
but remember- u have to wear the oil either everyday or evry 2 days for best results then wash it out.
u rather use dat - its a natural remedy than chemical formulated things that damgae the hair more.
warnign STRONG SMELL- lolz

mine is thin too, try parting it to one side. and put a bit of mousse on the first under layer next to the part before styling, I also blow it dry and pull it up like a fluff while blow drying,

use a great volumizing shampoo, Sunsilk has a great one and use some light products to get some good volume and curl going there...
Good luck!

If you mousse it, and braid it and leave it overnight, then when you take it out, it appears fluffier.
