Well, I'm not vegan, so I don't have any personal experience. I know you've found some websites - have you seen AllEarsNet.com? Just about every restaurant at Walt Disney World, whether it's counter service, table service, or a buffet, offer at least one vegetarian/vegan dish. This website is very helpful in planning a Walt Disney World vacation and the dining section is excellent. Click on the link and scroll down a little bit - the Vegetarian/Vegan links are under the "Special Dietary Needs" section.
http://allearsnet.com/din/dining.htm
There are links for list of all the different restaurants that offer vegetarian/vegan dishes, a link for strategies, and a couple links for stories from other vegetrians/vegans who've dined at Walt Disney World.
Hope I could help! Have a great time!

My son is vegan also. There is a food court in "The Land"
which has some vegan selections as well as vegetarian.
Also, you can go to ANY of the Disney restaurants and let the
server know you are vegan. If the server can't tell you what they
have that is vegan, he/she will have the chef come out to talk with you and the chef will make sure that you will have vegan
offerings. We did that at the German showcase (the Biergarten)
and the chef took my son (he's 27) up to the buffet and told which
dishes were strictly vegan. He then asked my son if there was anything on the buffet that wasn't vegan that he would like to have. My son loves sauerkraut ( but it is cooked with some kind of meat), so the chef went and cooked my son some sauerkraut of his own. So do not be shy. Pick whatever restaurants you want to eat at and ASK. Disney prides itself in being able to cater to people with special dietary needs.
Enjoy!

It depends on what your priorities are... I've done both the regular plan (1 counter, 1 table svc, 1 snack) and the deluxe plan and each were perfect for their situation. The regular plan is great if you've got a lot of people in your party or if your main focus is "rides, rides, rides." When I went down in January of 2009 I went with my friends who have a daughter that was 5-years-old at the time (my first ever trip with a child). We got the deluxe dining and did the rides for the kid and meals for adults. It was GREAT. We did a very leisurly pace, and ate at all the places you don't typically want to take time out for. We enjoyed several character meals, a dinner show, and a couple of fancy-schmancy places like the coral reef. At one restaurant a little girl was wearing an "it's my birthday pin" and the girl in our party didn't want the dessert that she had coming so we ordered a piece of cake and had it sent over to the other little girl. It made a nice little surprise for us to give. However, this really does take away from your time in the parks. Each meal wound up taking at least 1-2 hours depending on the place. We did skip a few meals because of not being hungry, but we were able to use those credits for both meals that require two credits and we traded a couple in for snacks on the way home (they gave us two bottled beverages and two snacks for each meal credit but I'm not sure if that's "official" policy). Yes, the deluxe plan is more expensive, but it really didn't bother me because I scheduled my vacation well in advance and paid a little each week until it was paid for so since everything was pre-paid, it didn't really affect my budget for the trip. So, I would recommend both plans, and I'm sure I will use both plans again during future trips. The deluxe plan did not disappoint. It was nice change up from run, run, run, eat fast, run, run run.

I have been to Disney with my daughter who couldn't have any dairy in her food. I told the wait staff at each restaurant and the chef would come out and discuss what foods could be made without dairy and help in the process of picking her meals. They were sooo accomodating, I suggest talking to the chef at ANY restaurant - I bet they'll make dishes for you that are vegan!

The ride the "Land" in Epcot has a nice veg. restaurant right out side of it. It's in a huge building. Just ask for the Land restaurant when you get there.
