You can shop online or you can go to a merchant and use the toll free phone number if you feel more comfortable shopping like that.

The best place to buy one is at your local camera shop, if you need help making a selection or learning how to use it.
You can try WalMart, Target, Best Buy, Circuit City, Staples, etc., and you may luck out and get a camera geek who knows what they are talking about, but if you sense ignorance - shop elsewhere. At least you know the real camera salesman knows what he is talking about. Most of the time.

Target or amazon.com, they have the best selections. But usally, alot of stores (target, wal-mart, best buy) sell the same cameras. They should all work, but if you're looking for certain features, do some research before buying.
