I'm a college student. I like to study rather than go out and find friends, as 1) I don't really fit in, 2) I won't have fun, and 3) it is useless anyway. I like to study beyond class and that has meant good grades in college. I study things in my field that could hardly come into real use and probably won't be on exams anyway.
Sometimes I get depressed and imagine how I could be different. Am I weird?

Hell no - u ain't wierd.
I'm a 2nd year university student and am pretty much like u. I don;t drink, i don't go to parties and only have a couple of close friends at uni. Just becuase you don;t live up to the sterotypical student image doesn't make you wierd.
I study art and art history adn often study aound my chosen subject. i look int history, science all sorts of things that might give me a greater understanding of my chosen subject.
If you'd like to make more firends why not try asking some people on your course if they'd like to study together sometime - swap ideas and information. There are people out there that you'd get along with i'm certain - you just need to find them.
College is about learning stuff but also about developing social skills that you'll use later in life. Its hard to begin with but treat the whole socialing things as just something else to learn.

You're not weird, but you definitely could make a few changes. It's fine to do what you're doing, because you're not harming other people, but while you could keep in that mindset, you'll forget that you have to worry about yourself too. Good grades in college are one thing, but in the future, businesses who want to hire you are going to look at how well you work with others, and whether or not you are a sociable person. Now I'm not saying go bar hopping every night and get incredibly drunk, because that, I promise you, will backfire. Try to find some other people similar to you, in that they care about school and their grades much more than the average person. You can form your own little group and get together for dinner and talk about anything you want, whether it be your schoolwork, or that girl in your class you think is hot. You'll learn social skills without knowing it, and get out a little bit more, so I promise, you will be a little less "weird". And since it seems like you are studying things outside of what you actually need to know for exams, your grades will probably stay steady, or possibly improve!

No, you're smart and curious. The world is full of wonderful facts that will get you further than a beer bong and a one-night stand. Partying is not the only way to make friends. You could tutor, since you're so smart, get a job at the library, or try out for club that interests you. You'd be great in theatre. Actors, directors, producers, etc. have to know a lot about the state of the world of the time period of the production. Every person has something to offer this world. You are unique and wonderful.
Also, keep in mind that after you graduate, you'll be able to use your brains and knowledge to land a great job and the 'frat rats' will still be waking up with hangovers.

I don't think that you are weird everyone is different and some people like to be social butterflies while others are fine at home alone. If you get depressed and don't like to go out find something to do when you are in those "blue moods" to help lift your spirits...I don't think that by doing something that you don't feel comfortable doing is gonna help solve the issue though

You're not wierd, but if you get depressed about it you should make the effort to change something. It's not like you're the only one who's ever had this problem.

I think that you over-compensate in the study area so you won't have to face social situations.

You always think something is wrong because your ego is very busy bringing up "evidence".....
Realize the ego troubled person is the One just as much as a person free of it...
