I want my kids to grow up with traditional family values, but I DO NOT want them to be surrounded by fundamentalist Christians (a few are okay, but I want a place where other views are entertained and valued). Where can I find a moral, yet open-minded place to raise children?

Well you should raise your child to have an open mind and in a good family environment, it shouldn't matter the norms of society in a specific area. As long as the child is educated and loved growing up the decisions that are made will be moral.

Anywhere USA. The family values come from the home. You are responsible for their upbringing, values, ethics, etc. San Francisco, Houston, Manhattan, Orlando, Miami, Denver, Ashland, Seattle, pick a place........any place. You have to do the homework and find specific schools that meet you and your kids needs. It's not the place but how YOU raise them to be independent and compassionate beings.

Anywhere in the quiet peaceful country where children can go outdoors and play peacefully and take hikes in the woods to the creek with their dogs , and ride bikes up the road safely.
And rub the horses in the pastures, and pick black berries and honeysuckles in the summertime.

Canada. We are very open-minded people, and don't judge people very quickly. I am sort of a Christian, and go to a church which our priest is gay, our congregation is mix with Jews, catholic, and even atheist. Or try Switzerland, I hear they are also a mutual country.

If your home is that way, then that is the way they will grow up. It's the inside world that matters, not the outside world.
