that is because of the fact our ancestors used to count quantity and talk numbers with their palms. think of of Roman numerals, the place V (5) symbolises the V between thumb and forefinger of an open hand i.e. all 5 digits. this is why base 10, or multiples thereof, became the main uncomplicated in the classic international. The Babylonians used 60, and the Maya 20. Hindu-Arabic numerals blanketed use of the 0 (as did Maya), and as a result we now use those as a replace of the greater unwieldy Roman numerals.

10 virgins - God's complete test of who was worthy
10 lepers - divine test of thankfulness
10 horns - anti-christ - complete divine order against Christ.
