I certainly agree with you. I left a church just b/c the issues of money where not given enough attention to and where left unresolved. Unfortunately... the truth is that most pastors or men/women in leadership don't want us to ask questions. They think that just b/c the scripture talks about giving money to the church they think we should be convinced by that and some even feel it's none of our business. On the other hand, there are some churches that are well organized enough to provide a financial statement for every member at the end of the year (ony for members who pay their tithes). Due to the high volume of selfish, self-seeking, greedy bastards..... I think that every church should be audited by professionals on a basis of twice a year or something like that. It should be pretty obvious that the monies are being used for good things but if you suspect of anything otherwise... I think you should leave the church and find a more organized one. It's very difficult to come against an organization as such.. I don't know why... but it is. I have tried!

have you ever seen going into the church place of work and asking the church treasurer to envision the books. Even moreso, are you a member of the church? you incredibly do not need to work out a economic assertion from a church until you're a helping member. Written economic statements at the instant are not usually purely made available for open distribution. right here interior the States, church homes could supply you with a finacial assertion of YOUR donations each and every 365 days. seek for bulletin bulletins for the Church Board's corporation assembly and examine to work out in the event that they're open conferences. (Has the church been complaining when you consider which you will not tutor them your economic information on what you spend your money on? economic statements are private. understand that, and seek for an appointment with the Treasurer.

Hmm, I never really thought about that, but I know that many Churches here in the US have a group of "board members" which vote on how the money is spent and even how much the pastors salary is.

I did go to one church that closed their service with an account balance and what major expenditures had been made.

We have a business meeting that shows the amount of funds going to each expense and everyone is invited. There are multiple checks and balances at my church for money handling. I think th rule is that 2 deacons and the pastor have to sign off on every check or the bank cannot accept them.

In our Church we see the financial statements. So we do know where the money goes. The board also has to approve the budget every year, along with the Church members.

Umm...most churches do have quarterly open meetings where the budget and expenses are written out on paper and discussed. Even those that don't attend the meeting usually get mailed a copy.

Wow, you're telling me you won't accept Christ and save your soul because of a money thing? I think you should really rethink that position.

My church has business meeting every October and explains where every penny went. Our books are open to every member of our congregation any time they want to look at them. If you don't attend our church then it's none of your business where the money is spent.

my church lets me know how much I gave each year. they send everyone a statement (if you use envelopes) even the little kids. I'm Catholic. My church also lets you do an automated deposit right from your checking account. They also publish the total weekly giving in the bulletin each week.
