The marines require more physical excersizes and is not as equipment dependant. Most of the other branches are about the equipment and not the individuals.

You might be interested to know the The MARINES are a division of the NAVY.
There training is excellent and have a very strict code of Honor. With the numbers you are always going to have a few that make bad decisions and they pay the price.
NO Military person (whacko's that sillped through the process are the exceptions) are going to kill an innocent intentionally ; wrong place wrong time happens.
I was in a situation where I felt someone behind me at night and turned to see a machette ready to take off my head. I felt that I could disarm and disable, but never got the chance. A shot took her down and when I saw that she was a girl of about 15 it FREAKED me OUT!
Here is something that may bring a little understanding. It was a COMMON practice of the cong to drive a bus through a busy section were US troops were. A crying baby would be thrown from a window with the "mother" screaming "SAVE MY BABY". It is PURE INSTINCT for a military person to catch the baby before it hits the ground and is injured. Unfortunately, the baby had company in the blanket; a contact bomb and they are BOTH in a better place.
Until you have been there, you have NO comprehension; NOT your fault, just a fact of lacking experience and having TOO many PUNKS like savageone filling your minds with CRAP and partial information.
I have a tremendous respect for Marines as ALL branches of the service.
I might also mention that the old navy uniform wasn't too bad; no zippers and the pants had a flap in front secured by 13 buttons (one for each colony). We all joked that it gave a woman 13 chances to say "NO".
Here is an invitation to savageone.
I am an hononary Marine Corps DI as a sailor and there is this little reunion in San Diego every year (late August). We have been getting together at the same hotel for years with MASS quantities of adult beverage and we are ALWAYS asked back. Come on down BOY!
Out of RESPECT to those MARINES that have SERVED and given their lives PLEASE do not use "SEMPER FI" unless you have EARNED the RIGHT.

That's easy, as a former Marine, I feel we are the best simply do to Personal pride, History, Traditions. We are in-trusted with the defense of our nation and her allies from forward deployed bases and ships around the world. We have the honor of being the one of the Oldest Military services in the United States(US army 14 June 1775, USMC November 10, 1775). we are the Presidents Own, We guard embassies around the World and We have a shining history of Leaders and Medal Of Honor winners, We fight in every clime and Place.
"If the army or the Navy ever gaze on Heaven's scenes , they will find the streets are guarded by UNITED STATES MARINES"
Oh Yeah We have the Best uniforms(LMAO)

Hollywood. They do a good job of billing themselves as he toughest. From what Hollywood as put out you'd think the Marines were the only ground force in the Pacific during WWII. Of couse much, if not the bulk, was Army and lead by an Army commander. In recent history it has been the Army and the Air Force that took care of most of the fighting. In Desert Storm the Marines were just a diversion while the Army took care of beating Saddam's army the first time. I think the jarheads were still driving old M-60 tanks (no doubt using their funds for the Osprey).

With a Marine there is an honor code and a reputation to uphold.
And BTW to the guy here who is saying bad things I wish you could meet some of these guys. I have a friend who was Marine Recon and he's one smart cookie. Today's Marines are well educated and know their jobs very well.

I have the pleasure of working with a young man that served in Iraq recently.
He is honorable, does not question authority, does not talk back-- he simply does what is requested.
If all Marines are like him- they ARE the best of the BEST.

Its completely organic to your mothers and fathers to be nervous approximately you and for them to be against you turning out to be a member of. i could recommend which you get some cloth out of your recruiter with reference to the MOS you go with for to enlist into and with reference to the reward of being a Marine (they have a lot of pamphlets, brochures, and different counsel). take a seat along with your mothers and fathers and talk why you go with for to connect and the advantages which you will earnings via turning out to be a member of (training, expert progression, undertaking, adventure with distinctive cultures, etc). once you're mothers and fathers are nevertheless having a no longer uncomplicated time then consistent with danger you ought to invite your recruiter again in and communicate with them. Your recruiter is there to help you so enable him/her take a seat along with your mothers and fathers to respond to any questions they have which you will no longer have the skill to respond to. interior the top that's your determination and you do no longer choose for his or her consent. i've got seen many mothers and fathers be completely against their toddler's determination to connect yet on the top of boot camp the mothers and fathers are appropriate there for relatives day and commencement. Congrats on your determination to joing and good luck!
