Get her an old Honda Accord. They look nice and they go and go.

I would recommend a Honda or Toyota (preferably a Honda) for a first car. They are nice little cars, and have great safety features and will run even if they aren't taken care of exactly right.
My parents bought me a Honda when I turned 16 and it lasted through 4 kids.

I'd get her a Honda Civic. It's small enough that she can handle it and they are very dependable.
If you buy from a car dealer be sure to ask for a carfax history. Many dealers are now buying their used cars at auto auctions. These cars are often repossessions. I found this out when trading in my car. They told me they could get a car like mine cheaper from the auction. I said, yes, but those cars were often abused. What you want from a car dealer is a car that was traded by a former customer where the salesperson knows they did maintenance on it.

i own a repair shop, and a pretty good car is a Toyota corolla ,they are probably one of the most dependable cars on the market today, and you can get a real new model one priced real good right now,,i do a lot of work on vehicles,,i had to go right strait back to work today,,but out of all the cars i work on ,i don't get many corolla,s to work on,,this would be a real good safe reliable car for her ,especially and her being a new driver, and there cheap to insure, because there not in the sports car category either,,my daughter started with one ,and really liked it,,now that she can afford a better car she don't want one,,so you and her might should check a few of these out,,they,ll surprise you on mileage also real cheap too operate,,good luck, hope this help,s.happy new year.

Buy your daughter a pre-owned certified vehicle. They come with a warranty and you can get a pretty nice bargain on a used vechicle. I would suggest toyota or honda. They both have good track records.

just get something safe for her. i think the best car would be a later model Honda accord. they can take abuse and are really safe for a sedan. if you spend a little bit more, a subary forester, is a great idea too.
