Today at work my ears started ringing. For a minute every sound was very dull. Then it popped and I could hear normally again. It didn't last long but I'm just wondering why it did it. This does not happen often but is it something to worry about?

BTW, many of you are saying change in air pressure or sound. The radio was low and I was at work so no air pressure changes there. And I'm not sick.. hopefully.

This happens to me a lot, especially when I am getting or have a cold. It could be just your sinuses draining and is nothing to worry about.

Nope, nothing to worry about but for popping, it's usually a change in pressure due to altitude changes. Not only on planes but if you drive up or down really quick on a steep incline. For ringing, I have a feeling it's super low or high frequency sound that we feel but cannot hear. You get a ringing sound especially if you go to a concert or performance with sound over 90 decibles (listening constantly to over 90 decibels can have permanent damage to your hearing).

It can also be caused by exposure to loud music. My ears do this and I was told it was permanent damage from playing in bands and seeing too many shows and not using ear plugs.
