Yes he has said a couple of times that he is not as smart as I am.

No I think that he likes the fact that your intelligent he can tell everyone he knows that his girl is intelligent and bueatiful and that's why he loves you

Yes, men do like smart women. A dumb one doesn't help his ego at all. They usually pity them or feel annoyed by them. It's ok that he tells you how smart you are. Maybe he finds it the highest compliment he can give you. However, the best advice anyone could give you is to ask him why he tells you that. Without honesty in a relationship, you can have nothing.

If he is saying it and then makes a comment that he's not that smart, he might be intimidated. But most likely he is giving you a compliment and trying to encourage you (don't discourage that kind of behavior).
If it makes you feel uncomforatable him saying it all the time, tell him about it.

i think i have learnt to be a better person through my experiences. i will only speak the truth about my opinion to the person i truly love. other than that, i will not talk much. this is to avoid any misunderstanding and confusing.
as to your question, i think he likes you. i don't think he is intimidated by you nor is he being sarcastic because if he is, he will probably say he feels inferior or you're too good for him or when you have done something wrong and he says that, then that is being sarcastic. i think he is really praising you. it all depends on the context of the conversation.

He may be telling you how smart you are to be with him.
Different men are attracted to different women, just as women. My wife keeps telling me how smart I am...I keep telling her how sexy I am. Maybe we are both right?

From what I heard from Men... they do like smart women (and respect them)... smart and intelligent is different...
But some man find is a threat (Intelligent)... so depends which one is he...

He likes you a lot and he finds you attractive. He also does not want you to get the impression that he is only interested in your body.. He is trying to let you know that he feels you are worth more than the sum of your parts.
