I just purchased Level 1 of the Rosetta Stone so I can learn Spanish. I know nothing is more valuable than immersing myself in a country with the language but that is not possible. I was just wondering if anyone has used the Spanish (Latin American) version of Rosetta and how well it worked for them. Thanks!

I did the free tutorial online a few months ago. It took about 30 minutes to do and I loved it. The way the process works, challenges you to think about what you're learning and is laid out logically where it makes sense and is easy to remember. At the end of the tutorial, I remembered most of what I had learned, just by the visuals the program painted for me. Though the program was quite expensive, I vowed that if I ever wanted to learn a language, and had the money to invest, I would choose Rosetta Stone.

People who are just starting to learn a language tend to really like it. Those that already know some stuff tend to dislike it. That is probably because it is a different learning style. It is a different curriculum of learning. So you would almost have to start over learning the language even if you already know some of the language. And that's why some dont like it.

Keep in mind that learning a new language is a difficult task. You not only have to learn vocabulary, but you have to train your brain to communicate in a difficult way then you have all your life. You have to be committed to it. And it will literally take you years to perfect a new language no matter how you learn it. It's an ongoing learning experience that does not have a final chapter or a final exam.

I also checked the online demo. From what I saw, I'd say it is VERY expensive. I mean... they showed very basic things that can be learned just as easy with any other method.
But I'd like to see your progress when you finish that Lesson 1. It's be interesting to know.
