Ok I am taking this girl my mom set me up with on a date to an office Christmas party next week. I have this piece of jewelery I won at this party last year (a diamond pendant necklace) no one I know seems to want this thing and I dont really want to sell it. Its a really beautiful peice of jewelery that just through lack of female friend/serious dates I have no one to give this necklace to. Is it ok to give it away on the first date to this fancy Christmas party I am going to where we have to get dressed up?

Tuck it away..hold on to it for awhile. One day, there will be a good time to give that necklace to a special girl. You don't have to reveal you won it ..it is a special gift you are giving to a special girl...when that time is right...like after a year if dating strong..trust me..the girl will hold the necklace special to her.

(i wouldn't try to give it to this girl with saying i can't get rid of this thing..here take it...it will come off as to much for her)
failing all that..please feel free to email me for my address..I promise i will hold it special to me. ;-)

No, don't give her the necklace on the first date! That is kind of creepy and will make her uncomfortable.

Save the necklace, if all goes well, maybe you can give it to her on Valentine's day with her present. The necklace doesn't take up that much space. Save it for somebody that is special in your life. She will come along soon!

It sounds like a nice offer, but it's too soon, you may scare her away. Girls are intimidated by gifts like that too soon in the relationship (it would freak me out - you don't want to look desperate). I would save it and give it to her after you guys have become a little more serious. Get her a box of chocolates or perfume (that's less intimidating). Hang on to that beautiful necklace you will find that special someone to give it to.

Why would you want to? You don't know this chick, and you have no history. Wait a while and build up to a crescendo; you don't want to shoot your load before you know what her game is, you'd just be rewarding nothing, and that sets you up for a fall later on. Make it a give and take situation, so she's rewarded for her good behavior and sweet nature, not for just being your date. Be a good man, not a carpet for her to wipe her feet on.

NO, NO, NO.

If you start with a piece of jewelry -- a diamond one at that -- what kind of gift will you give to her on your 2nd date, or your 3rd. Or even on your 1st anniversary together.

Give her something less expensive.......it makes alot more sense.

well it depends because it's the first date and the girl might not except it because 1. it's the first date and 2. she might think you want something in return

Yeah, it's ok to give it as a gift like that. As long as it's because you're dressed up. Don't get her flowers or anything else to go along with it. Just give her that.
