If you fast you will lose 3-5 pounds a day for the first 3 days and 1 pound per day afterwards, also I have been fasting for 10 days and I have lost 18 pounds! water fasting is very hard! Remember you will be losing water the first 5 days so after the fast you must eat very healty unless you will gain weight! I have lost over 50 pounds in 3 months fasting off and on it can be done! Losing a pound per day is unhealthy. You want to lose weight at a slow, steady pace, otherwise you're losing muscle, not fat. This will cause severe health problems, which can include the heart.
The best bet is to get an exercise program (nothing to overly strenous) and regulate your eating habits.

Stay off the bad carbs/sugars all together, exercise regularly, 8 glasses of drink water daily...Remember to lose it safely and soundly... In all reality, weight loss should occur 1-2 pounds per week. If you don't do it wisely...you could cause internal problems that you don't know of at the time.

Don't listen to any fasting advice! The only HEALTHY way to drop a pound a day without losing a lot of muscle is a no-carb diet. Eliminate all carbs and eat lots of protein and healthy fats. This will save you a lot of muscle but get rid of the fat.
