The model # is 27A40. Now the problem is the coax connector does not give me a picture and with that being said obviously no sound. But on the other hand the component ports(red, green, yellow) do work but I don't want to pay the cable co. money each month for a digital box. I have taken the back off and inspected the insides but was unable to remove coax port from circuit board in fear of breaking board and thus ruining everything PLEASE HELP JUST WANT BASIC CABLE TIME WARNER IS KILLING ME WITH THE WHOLE DIGITAL BOX FEE

You might be able to find the answer on this web site. If not, go to Circuit city and ask for a unversal cable for sound and picture it costs approx. $12.0. They don't usually come with the TV. http://tacpservice.toshiba.com/ConsumerProductSupport/Manuals/TV/27_32_36A40_A.pdf

check the ends of the coax cable you are using. The Signal travels through the small copper in the center of the cable. Be sure that this is not bent over.

Your TV does include a Cable Tuner. So, you can have basic ANALOG cable without a set-top box. If you need access to digital cable you need to either get a set-top box or a new HDTV with a cable-card slot.

There is nothing wrong with your TV.

Why not sell your current TV on eBay, or to a friend/relative/neighbor/co-worker, then buy another????

It will cost more to get it fixed than to buy a new one! :(
