I just got a brand new Sony VX2100 yesterday, I seem to be very protective and worry about it, well today in the truck when I was driving, I had my VX2100 in the back seat floor in my hard case and it was standing up to the tallest height it can reach up to(like if you flip it over 90 degrees on its side) and in the case it has foam surrounding the camera everywhere and it is in place securely and not moving around and its a hard case, well the camera just tipped over and hit the truck floor and I turned around and then it frightened me. Am I worrying too much and did anything happen to the camcorder, its a little weird but I think I'm just overprotective and worrying. Thanks and best answer gets 10 POINTS FOR SURE!!!

Id say dont worry about it. I just got a used GL2 a couple weeks ago, and I super-overprotective at first, but it wont really matter, as long as you take good care of it in the future. Because if you have a series of little bumps or jolts, they will cause more damage than the big one you had. And plus, it was in the protective case so it cant be that bad. Obviously, dont go around hitting your camera off of things, but if you only have a small bump say once or twice a year, then its nothing to worry about. And on the bright side, youll probably end up upgrading to HD before your camera actually dies on you. Hope this helps!
