I prefer peace and quiet at Christmas, I can't be doing with all the family stuff.
I do like Christmas, but I don't like all the media and shopping hype surrounding it, plus the pressure to be happy and sociable and drunk is annoying.

I think I got the same amount of enjoyment out of my Christmas as you did. Did the in-laws family thing on Christmas Eve and Day and then legged it back home for a bit of piece and quiet for a couple of hours on the late afternoon. The partner and mother-in-law (and dog) ot back about 9:30pm and then we all got a bit pissed (not the dog) whilst watching 'The Two Ronnies' and talking rubbish.. could have been worse.. ended up being better than expected.. all in all, a result!

I'm glad it's over for another year, it puts too much pressure on everyone to get the perfect gift, to act and be perfect. . All the relatives expect you to be a perfect angel stroking each others ego's. The holidays are no fun anymore not worth the bother.

I have had a very quiet Christmas as this has been my first with out my mum, she past away 7 months ago. I have been at home with my kids and husband playing board games with them and when I have had time using my laptop. Just watching my kids opening and playing with their presents has made me happy.

Christmas went OK, thought the telly a bit disappointing (as usual), they showed 'Nuns on the Run' which is one of my favourite films. I think there's some parts of Christmas everyone likes, Love the Christmas meal, love turkey, and sprouts, roast potatoes and parsnips and gravy, and cranberry sauce with port has to be tried.

I'm like you, vey glad its over, My Chritsmas was a nightmare! My parents wouldn't leave me alone (Kept phoning me, every five or so minutes) They'll do the same thing on New Years too! And then I'll only get pestered at Birthdays and the occasional party!

I am also glad that Christmas is over, it's not the same for me anymore, now that my boys are all grown up and left home, but to me , Christmas is for the children, always has been and always will be. New Year is for the grown ups and that, I am looking forward to !!!

Usually I love Christmas, but this year it lacked something, not sure what. It was ok, but decorations and tree have already bit the dust. But that is just for me. The real meaning of Christmas was as good as every year, the birth of Jesus. If it weren't for him, none of us would be here. ......

Mine has been the Best in many years - spent strangely enough with family members we don't get so see that often. Didn't go mad but we all had nice useful gifts, a few beers and some good laughs.
cheers RTC

I love to be around my family and friends for the holidays but don't live close to them now. I am going home soon and can't wait to see them. You never have another chance to get back the time that you didn't have with them. Sometimes I think they can be a bit much but I do love them and miss them when I don't see them.
